Moritz Krämer is one of my favorite German singer-songwriters. Frankly, I don't like the way he mumbles the lyrics, because it's sometimes hard to understand the words. And that's a pity, because his lyrics really are worth a listen. On "Ich hab' einen Vertrag unterschrieben" (I've signed a contract"), Moritz Krämer takes the listener on an uneasy trip through the ups and downs of the commercial music business from the point of view of a sensible and creative singer-songwriter. The lyrics are witty, frequently tongue-in-cheek in a nice way, and expose an inherent melancholic flavor. My favorite track "Eine Ballade muss drauf sein" ("A ballad must be included") is a masterpiece: Of course, it's written in the form of a ballad, but in fact it's full of cutting irony about the inevitable ballad found on commercial rock/pop albums.
Favorite track: Eine Ballade muss drauf sein.
